Consumers scan at the first vending machine and run 5km to the next vending machine. They scan in at half way and then run back to the start vending machine. They are given their run time and rewarded with a free POWERADE from the vending machine.
Runner’s times are updated to the web & billboard leader board. Digital signage on the course encourages runners with personal messages of support.
In 2011, The POWERADE Challenge won two awards at the Spikes Asia Awards - a silver award for 'Best Use of Ambient Media: Large Scale' and a bronze award for 'Integrated Media Campaign' in the media category.
